Leesburg, Fla. – The Lake-Sumter State College softball program will be putting on a Winter Showcase and I.D. Camp Saturday, January 6 beginning at 9:00 am.
Softball players who are currently in high school are encouraged to attend. Several JUCO college coaches will be invited as well as four-year college coaches. The showcase will give the athletes an opportunity to perform in front of several college coaches and receive instruction from the LSSC coaching staff.
Athletes will begin the day with a pro style workout taking reps at each position they would like to workout at. Pitchers will throw to catchers with all coaches in attendance. Once all the defensive workouts are completed, the athletes will be timed home to first and end the day with hitting.
Along with the on field activities, the athletes will have an opportunity to mingle with current Lake-Sumter softball players and have a chance to ask questions of college coaches at the end of camp.
Since Coach Miller and his staff arrived in 2015, the Lakehawks have signed nine girls as a direct result of Lake-Sumter's camps and showcases.
The cost of the camp will be Pitching & Catching only - $80, Position player only - $80, Both - $100.
