Fruitland Park, Fla. – Over 90 golfers teed off at Harbor Hills Golf and Country Club for the 19th annual Lake-Sumter State College Athletics Department golf outing. The event is designed to help student-athletes at LSSC with books, tuition and athletic program needs.
The team of Crippen & Co./Dar-Schackow Insurance took home first place in this year's tournament. They were followed by Gulfpoint Construction and United Southern Bank in second and third place respectfully. On the other side of the spectrum, Publix Super Market Charities took home the Team of the Year Award for highest score on the day.
Other events that took place included the Harbor Hills Longest Drive contest, which was won by Bill Wonus and Mary Law Powell. Chad Filley took the top spot in the Closest to the Pin challenge. Finally, this year's Putting Contest champion was Scott Blankenship.
